Good Afternoon Colleagues,
I am reaching out to our community to get further perspective on the average FTE bench marking data. The data currently does not take into account a mid-level provider in the utilization of staff. I am slightly surprised the data has not taken mid-levels into consideration at this point. However, I would like to hear from my fellow administrators on whether you consider the same ratio of staffing for a mid-level provider? I am having a difficult time separating a mid-level provider in relation to the amount of resources needed to provide care to a patient. I would appreciate your feedback in helping me make an informed decision regarding the staffing ratio

Hi Jamie,

I guess it would depend on how many patients they are seeing per day. I usually have 2 MAs for an MD and 1 MA for a PA. The reason is because PA's can do more admin jobs that MD's won't, such as referral letters, biopsy call backs, etc.

Hi Jamie! We have two MAs per NP and three for the Mohs surgeon. Our NPs are seeing around 40 patients a day. At this rate it would actually be nice to have 3 MAs per NP. I am looking for benchmarking data as well and am struggling.
